All data is sourced from public financial disclosures filed with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. Free to use for journalism, research and analysis.
Rows are extracted from OGE filings by automated parsing (Claude PDF reading, PDF-parser and OCR cross-checks) and reviewed by a mix of software and human checks; the status on each row says which. Open the source PDF to confirm any row, and tell us if something is wrong. How rows are checked.
Downloads preserve historical records. The historical_report and former_official CSV columns (historical and formerOfficial in JSON) identify records excluded from current-roster totals. Date scope labels distinguish older trades disclosed in second-term reports; those remain included.
Rows read from annual and termination reports (the annual-report lane) carry source_kind (278-T, annual-278e or termination-278e), source_page and source_row (the PDF page and printed row number), account_label where the report lists trades per account, and periodic_status, the audit’s classification: reported (on a 278-T), not-on-posted-278t (not found on any posted 278-T), exempt (not found on any posted 278-T; the audit classed the asset as a fund or real property), unresolved (not found on any posted 278-T; the audit recorded no class), pre-service (dated before taking office) or unposted-278t (on a 278-T OGE did not post). late_filing is blank on those rows: the annual form has no late column.
One row per transaction. Includes official name, title, agency, asset description, ticker, type, date, amount range, midpoint estimate, late filing flag and verificationState. Keeps every row, including rows under review.
One row per official. Includes name, title, agency, trade count, sales/purchases breakdown, late filing count, estimated total value and under-review count. Totals exclude rows under review.
Complete structured dataset with every 278-T transaction on the site. transactionCount excludes score-0 rows; underReviewCount reports them separately, per official and for the dataset.
Asset values and transaction amounts are reported in ranges as required by federal law. Exact values are not disclosed.
